About

Since being a child I have been creative. Searching for freedom, light and beauty.

Later on I went on to explore this freedom and beauty, and studied art and architectural design.

Exploring structure and movement in inner and outer space. But the conceptual side of art school at that time made things rigid, and I didn´t find what I was looking for.

I went to work in graphics, exhibition design and animation.

It was quite some time later, that I found what I had been searching for and trying to express for so many years. After starting my two year yoga teacher training at Yoga Vidya in Germany.

My understanding of reality had been written down in old Sanskrit texts. Some of them thousand of years old. It was all so simple.

Although I had been practising yoga and meditation since my late teens, it was then that I started to immerse myself completely. Changing my computer based life around.

The quest for yoga unity became and still is my aim....With all its ups and downs. Sometimes it seems close and at other times so far away. It is these glimpses of resting in that "Purna" that completeness, that one without another, that gives me peace.

Now I teach yoga, offer massage and work as a community carer.

Working with the housebound, elderly and frail, has given me a whole new understanding of how our bodies and minds work. Strong egos have faded away. Bodily needs, helplesness and a lot of humour are present. I enjoy listening to past stories, and working with what is now.

From being a prenatal Yoga teacher for so many years, it feels that I have almost come full circle.

I regularily practised yoga with a 96 year old student last year :)

I have been teaching at yoga studios and hospitals in Germany and the UK since 2008.

My main spiritual connection is with Yoga Vidya, Germany. I have been teaching there since 2008 and have been connected with their Ashrams since 2000.

I used to run the popular Lakshmi Yoga Shed in Saltdean, Brighton.

I have been coming to see Yvette for about a year now and I’m addicted! I had been finding larger classes that just seemed to be one pose after another a bit unfulfilling. Her classes are always small numbers with not only the feeling that you’ve had a great stretch but also deeply relaxing and spiritually uplifting as well.
